InformationBiography
Jai Toor (b. 1998) is a British-Indian photographer and artist based in the UK. His artistic exploration delves into the intricate interplay of diaspora and fantasy within the fabric of our everyday surroundings. Employing a multifaceted approach, Toor seamlessly integrates research, analogue processes, text, and archival photographs to craft narratives that resonate with depth and complexity.
With a portfolio that has graced esteemed exhibition spaces such as HAUTE Photographie, Pinakothek der Moderne, Hoxton Arches, and The Photobook Cafe, Toor has established himself as a storyteller who transcends conventional artistic boundaries. His works, a fusion of the contemporary and the nostalgic, have found a home on notable platforms, including It’s Nice That, Telegraph, Notion, Trippin, Serpentine Gallery, Pearl Press, and Road to Nowhere.Beyond his personal artistic endeavors, Toor is deeply immersed in the realms of fashion and underground music scenes. He channels his passion for inclusivity through 'Fourth Floor,' an independent online magazine he co-founded. This platform serves as a dynamic space, amplifying the voices of underrepresented creatives globally while exploring the intricate intersections between society and culture.
